When it comes to finding the right technical partners, Dalet and MainConcept make a winning team. After all, both were founded in the 1990s when the Internet was at the forefront of changing the fabric of everyday life, communication, business and entertainment. And both have established reputations as leaders in the broadcast and video production industries.
In 1990, six friends from engineering and business school, developed Dalet—an audio and centralized database solution for the radio industry which was first deployed by Canada’s national radio channel and from there spread across the world. In 2000, Dalet was widely adopted by newsrooms and the use cases and product line continued to rapidly develop into a range of solutions for end-to-end media management and news production used across the industry.
Just three short years after Dalet was founded, MainConcept was founded in Aachen, Germany and it quickly became a leading provider of video and audio codecs, plugins, and applications to the production, streaming, and broadcast industries.
Still devoted to the original mission, MainConcept helps companies save time, reduce cost, minimize risk, and future-proof their workflows. This is done through constant attention to providing quality, performance and reliability along with exceptional customer service. That is why MainConcept remains the choice of professionals and organizations that build technology such as Dalet, Adobe, Autodesk, AVID, Corel, Endeavor Streaming, Grass Valley, MAGIX, Nikon, PlayBox Neo and Sony.
Starting a full decade ago, the technical partnership between MainConcept and Dalet continues to grow. Currently, MainConcept’s SDK components are integrated within platforms such as Dalet Pyramid, Dalet Brio, Dalet AmberFin and Dalet Galaxy five as an essential part of their application servers, processing all types of media formats. In fact, nearly every Dalet media workflow uses MainConcept Encoder and Decoder SDKs.
This partnership enables media-rich organizations to deal with the many formats they require. With MainConcept’s highly flexible yet powerful API, integration into the Dalet development process was straightforward and did not expand the development timeline. Most recently, Dalet has integrated and is actively promoting MainConcept’s HEVC/H.265 Decoder to broaden their market coverage in the broadcast, production and OTT spaces.
